has taken on a major effort in getting Stamp technology into the classroom and I certainly applaud them for this effort. Many government agencies spend a good deal of money to improve the quality of high school and college curriculums. I don't want to slight these efforts, but I have come to conclude that there is no magic way to teach math or physics and once the funding disappears, the curriculum reverts to the original. My feeling is that good education is the product of good educators who believe in what they are doing, have a lot of get up and go, a contagious enthusiasm for their subject and are constantly reworking their own curriculum. |
My feeling is that the Parallax Basic Stamp 2 is perhaps unique in sparking enthusiasm among both teachers and students at a very affordable price and with very minimal overhead.
Parallax is a very small company and they are to be congratulated on undertaking an effort that may well prove far more valuable and lasting than many heavily sponsored projects.
Parallax has very kindly permitted me to participate in their Stamps in Class program and I am certainly honored.
Please note that this special pricing is only for high school and college students and educators. Proof is required. This may be a copy of a school ID or in high schools not having IDs, a letter from a teacher on school stationery indicating you are a student. For orders for classes, a purchase order from a school, Board of Education or college or university is sufficient.
I know that we are all "students" and also know that there are many fine youth organizations. But, please, high school and college students and educators only.
For the moment, this special pricing is for the US and Canada only.
